Summer 2008

So here we are nearing the end of summer, already. Wow. So where did the summer go?? Crazy. Time is just flying by, and I feel like I'm missing everything. So what did we actually do this summer? Well, we took Miles and Grace camping back in July. That was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it. Miles had a blast! Just the idea that he was outside and could get really dirty, I think that really appealed to him! I will have to check to see if I even have any pictures from that trip..... Don't think so. You see, I was in charge of the camera, which I brought, didn't quite remember the batteries though....OOps! And of course the big Santa's Village trip! Grandma Claire treated Miles and Grace to a trip to Santa's village! We had a great time. Of course it rained a little every single day. It was fine though, the kids had a lot of fun. I think just being in the hotel was exciting for them! Santa's village itself was pretty cool. Obviously it is geared to younger children so Miles was able to do every thing that Grace did. Except the roller coaster that is, but Grace had no interest in that anyways! And yes, it rained on us while we were there. And there is me, typical tourist. Now it rained everyday for like a month, all the weather reports called for rain that day, so you would think I would prepare for rain right? Wrong! Here we are at Santa's village, enjoying the day, and of course it starts to rain. And what happens when it rains? The clouds cover the sun, you get wet, and of course you get cold. So all these families with their little ones all seem to be prepared for the rain. We're talking rain coats and boots, warm sweaters, pants, everything. And here are we, shorts and t-shirts. Didn't think about sweaters or jackets, or umbrellas, nothing. So of course it starts to feel pretty chilly and I'm thinking great, we're going to have to cut this short because we are going to freeze to death. But it all worked out in the end. The rain stopped, the sun came back out, and the kids had a great time!! And now it is the end of August, summer is just about over. Wow, where did it go?
