Wow.....April 2010...... It has been a while since I have checked in here. I would say a lot has happened since then. Where do I start? I guess I could start from now and work backwards...... Would that be confussing? Maybe. I could take some time and try to go back and do things in order..... Or I could just do a real quick update now and then take time later to add pics and do a more detailed update. Ya, that sounds like the best plan! :)
Well, this week alone has been very trying. Yesterday, Friday March 4, 2011, my beautiful neice had surgery to remove cancer cells from her uterus/cervix. She is 24. We are all in shock that this has come to our family, and to someone so young. Of course now I'm freaking out about Michelle especially, with all the problems she has in that area. I think I would feel much better if the girls went to the doctor and had a good ol pap test done. Nat came through the surgery good, thank God. Now it is a 3 month waiting game until she goes back to the doctor and gets the all clear. I have a lot of great friends that are praying for her every day.
Next up this week.....I lost my job. Ya........ Not cool at all. I have put my heart and soul into this job and this company. My regional manager showed up on Wednesday, around supper time. With her she had termination papers from my District Manager position. She also had a contract job offer of store manager for closing of the branch, a 60 day position. To say I was in complete shock would be an understatement. I have never left a job on someone elses conditions before. I'm sure I will be fine...... The next 2 months are going to be hell though. The company has set things up in a really sneaky way. We are not aloud to talk to each other about the closing of the store. I am not aloud to talk to any of the teams from my other stores...only 1 of which will remain open. I have to go to work every day.....work like a dog.......keep smiling......say nothing negative.......and stay till the very end......if I want my bonus at the end of the closing procedure. Already, that has been very difficult for me to do. I hope it gets easier as time goes on but for now it is not fun at all. I have a fantastic team of ladies and we are so close. I don't know what I will do without them. :( I think we are going to start a coffee club! So my last day of work will be on or around April 30. If all goes well I will have a new job to go to by then. If not.....I could be spending the summer home with Miles!! I would LOVE to do that....Just don't know if we can afford for me to do that. We shall see.......
Ok, so whats next? Hmmmmmm Well in August Michelle moved to Vaughan. Her and Alex enrolled at RCSS or RSCC or.....???? Something like that...... School anyways.... :) So we found them an apartment, went shopping and bought everything they would need for the apartment. Made a bunch of trips to move them into their apartment, and they became students living in the big city!! :) Now it is March and they are moving home. Reality set in and the kids realized that life can be expensive. I am happy she is coming home.....! :) One small problem.....when Michelle moved out we re-arranged the house, gave the kids their own rooms. Grandma moved into the extra room. House is full. Now we have to condense the kids back down into one room again. It's going to be tough because we practically bought them a toy store for Christmas. In the end though....Michelle will be home! YAH!
What else.....? Oh yes, Miles started school in September. That was a challenge. I don't know who it was harder on, him or me. I will tell that story later and add some great pics!
Renee....yes Renee. She is doing great! She changed program at school, decided the Bachelor of Arts was a little much. University is just not for everyone. She switched to a program at the College! She is loving it and doing great! I really don't remember the actual program she is taking but it has to do with TV production.....camera operating......stuff like that. The main thing is she is having fun and doing good.
I think that pretty much sums it up! I will add some more detailed posts with pictures soon.
