Tragedy Strikes
Last night tragedy struck the sleepy little town of Copper Cliff, where we have many friends. An arsonist set fire to a town house. The fire quickly spread to the neighboring townhouses. By the end of the night, 8 local families were left homeless. Thankfully no one was lost in the fires. However, a litter of 5 dobermine puppies could not be rescued. My heart goes out to all of the families that are suffering through this loss. I know 1 of the families has 2 young sons, ages 3 and 5 I believe. Witnesses say the sounds of the 3 yr old crying and asking mommy what is happening to their house will always haunt them. We live in an amazing community though, and even before the firefighters had left the scene, donations had already started pouring in. People opened up their homes for all of the families affected by this tragedy! I think this weekend many of us will be going through our closets, dressers, toyboxes and basements looking for anything that we may be able to donate to these families. My heart goes out to all of the families and I myself will be doing whatever I can to help. As I type this, Miles is going through his shoes so he can share with the other little boy. I love my son.......
