Day 8....

Today I'm thankful for the sound of laughter.  The kids were in their room watching Americas funniest home videos and the big belly laughs coming from Miles just warmed my heart.  Love that sound.  :)

Day 7.....

Day 5.....

And today I am grateful for the snow.   Really.  I am grateful for the fresh snow falling on my face.  After not being able to get out of bed for a few days, the fresh snow felt fantastic!  Jazz and I had a great little walk.  I am grateful for the snow.  :)

Day 4.......

Today I am thankful for my family.  My loving family that went out and left me home alone to die....... Well, I think they were leaving me home so I could rest in the quiet but I felt like I was dying.  And I am grateful that my same loving family thought enough about me to bring me home a bowl of chicken noodle soup from Swiss Chalet....... Best soup EVER.  It reminds me of the days when Mike and I first started dating, any time I was sick he would show up with a bowl of that soup.  It's been a long time since he's done that.  Today I am grateful for my family.

Day 3......

Today I am grateful for an understanding boss.  I was able to leave work early to come home and snuggle up in my bed.  Hope I start to feel better soon.  :(

Day 2..... What I have to be grateful for.

Today I am grateful for the sun.  It was -51 on my way in to work this morning.  I still have pneumonia so I already was not happy about going out, the bitter cold made it that much worse.  However, as I drove up Ramsey Lake rd, the sun was so bright and beautiful, made me forget the cold...... If only for a minute.  On the way home, the sun was such a beautiful color behind the clouds.  No picture because my camera does not do the beautiful colors justice.  So, today I am grateful for the sun.  :)

365 Days of being grateful.

So 2014 has begun and I am sick as a dog....... Pneumonia.  It has been a difficult holiday.  We are all still missing Remmy terribly, Claire and I are sick..... Really makes it hard to enjoy the holidays.  So...... I'm starting a new "project" of sorts..... To remind me of all the things in my life I have to be grateful for, even when I'm sick.  Things that I don't notice everyday because I'm not looking.

So here we go..... What I have to be grateful for..... Day 1.

Today I am grateful for my son.  Even when he is engulfed in a video game, he is loving, caring and attentive.  Through this bout of pneumonia, he is the only one that is constantly asking me if I'm ok, do I need anything, and telling me he loves me.  I am grateful for my son.

Christmas 2013

Well Christmas has come and gone.  It was good and bad all rolled into one.  Claire and I have been sick since the first week in December.  I'm beginning to wonder if I will ever get better, pneumonia is not fun.  :(

Christmas with Miles this year was great!  He was sooooo excited.  When we finally put him to bed, you could almost see him vibrating with excitement.  He had us up Christmas morning at 4:30.  Well actually, he had dad up at 4:30 and dad managed to hold him off till about 5:15.  Grace spent Christmas Eve at her mothers, she was being dropped off around 8:30, so we let Miles go ahead and open his gifts.  There was no way we would be able to make him wait.  It was actually good because he had our complete attention.  Then when Grace came later, she also had our undivided attention.  Worked out good for both kids.  :)   Renee, Michelle, Alex and Corey showed up just after lunch.  It was hectic because Leo was here, as were Duncan and Patty.  Corey was sick and hadn't slept much so he was irritable, not really interested in his gifts.  He loves his batman chair now though!  Good find Poppa!

It really was a nice Christmas.

Miles and I did the childrens pageant at church.  I'm really proud of him for doing it because I know he didn't really want to, great job Miles!  :)

Supper was nice, had all the kids plus Debbie and David.  Just the right amount of people.  And we also did Christmas Eve here with Debbie and David.  I think Claire was really pleased that we actually used the living room.  It was nice, fireplace going, really cozy.

Mom didn't come this year.  :(   Because of the broken foot, she wasn't able to drive.  I'll go up and get her, bring her down for a week, as soon as I start to feel better.  It will be a good visit, not Christmas crazy.

It was really nice..... Looking forward to next year!  With any luck I won't be sick.  2014 I will be taking vitamin c and getting a flu shot!
