Thanksgiving 2013

Had a great Thanksgiving dinner at our house this weekend!  When the plans for dinner started, it was just going to be Clair, Mike, Miles, Michelle, Alex, Corey and I, so 7.  That's a relatively small gathering for us but that's ok.  I LOVE the way things change though!  :)   First mom calls to say she's coming for the weekend!  Yah!  So that makes 8.  Then Debbie and David changed their plans and now they are added to the list, making it 10.  Then I run into Libby, find out she'll be alone ....... Now she's coming too!  Awesome!  She then sends me a quick text asking if it's ok if Nat, Kyle and the kids come.  Up to 15!  And of course, Mike always has that last minute invite.  This year it was Sparky ( Dave ), his mom was in Ottawa so he would have been alone.  Thank goodness I always buy a big bird, but really, I love this.  And to top it off, Libby shows up with Ryan in tow!  So my original 7 turned into 17 and a great time was had by all.  The weather was excellent, 21 degrees and sun.  The guys sat out on the deck and had some drinks and cigars.  Kids played outside.  Could not have asked for a better day.  My little house always seems to be able to open up and make room for the big crowds.  Makes me very happy.  The only down side was Renee was not able to make it (working) and Grace was swept off to Englehart with her mom, against her wishes.  But they'll be with us at Christmas when we do it all again.  Oh, and the dinner was great to!!  Even managed to find a gluten free pumpkin pie for David, and had liked it!  I really loved seeing how well the kids played together this year.  They are usually a bit shy.  And next time Corey will be able to join in.  :)    How many weeks till the next big dinner.......?  Lol.
